Child Porn Computer Crimes

childLaw Offices of Howard A. Snader Child Pornography Defense Lawyer

Criminal charges involving child pornography often draw public disapproval and reproach. In addition to mounting an effective defense, the attorney defending the accused must have the determination to stand up to the media glare in such cases. As an experienced criminal defense lawyer, I have successfully represented numerous clients facing child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor charges.

The Gravity of Child Pornography Charges

In Arizona, the crime of child pornography is called sexual exploitation of a minor. Even the mere possession of a single image depicting someone under the age of 15 engaged in a sexually exploitative act can result in charges. Although you may believe you are legally protected if you did not create the image or distribute it, Arizona clearly makes it illegal to possess even one printed or computer image.

Arizona requires a minimum, mandatory prison term of 10 years (the maximum is 24 years) for each image in your possession. In addition, Arizona requires mandatory registration as a sex offender, and if given probation, the probation can be for the rest of your natural life. If convicted of multiple images in your possession, the Court must sentence you to at least 10 years on each photo to run consecutive to the prison time (at 10 years) for any other image for which you are convicted.

The Notoriety Of Child Porn Cases

The seriousness of child pornography charges cannot be overstated. Due to extreme societal disapproval of these cases, child pornography law is outrageously harsh, and prosecutors refuse to back down. For that reason, you should not rely on just any criminal defense attorney. You should seriously consider hiring an attorney who is highly experienced in child pornography law. I have been Certified by the Arizona Bar Association as a Criminal Law Specialist. In numerous child pornography and sexual exploitation of a minor cases, I have stood up for my clients rights and defended their freedom.
